The weekend is a great time to think about financial freedom, with the biggest question being "How?" Thank you to State Representative Donavan McKinney for bringing this to our district.

Thank you to Lt. Callow and Officer Manning of the Warren Police Department for holding a firearm safety session. Some of their advice: Remember to treat every firearm as if it is loaded and lock your personal devices. You can get a free lock at any police station in Michigan, or at our next session on May 29 at Carlson.

Today is National AI Literacy Day! AI is moving seemingly at the speed of light. There are many intricacies that we're all still learning together. It can be a helpful tool in so many ways if we take the time to learn about it. Are you ready to investigate? Have you tried it? It's ok either way! Check out some resources here: https://www.ailiteracyday.org/

Thank you, Warren PD Officer Henke for doing a traffic study at Nine Mile and Federal - it's a tricky corner! We now have a new and wonderful crossing guard, and will be looking more into dismissal light timing. Our LHS Advisory Student Team brought the issue to light and got things rolling.

Good morning, and welcome back to the home stretch of the school year! It's always so difficult to believe that April is upon us. There will be many, many things keeping us busy from now until June, so be on the lookout for notices from your child's school and teachers. Also, our new increased safety measures go into place today. Be sure you have picture ID at the doors and that each child's emergency contacts are updated.

We sure hope you're enjoying the Spring Break! Enjoy some pictures from Thursday, when our Dental Assisting students were able to hear about Macomb Community College's Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs at their dental clinic. They also saw Ms. Lipiec's former student who is a second year hygiene student at MCC and were able to talk with her.

Signing Day took on a new meaning as our State Champion Lincoln Abes took the time to sign autographs and take pictures with our elementary students after today's parade. Their faces say it all - we think the players were in a bit of shock, but everyone loved the friendship and mutual support. What a great afternoon! This is what Van Dyke is all about.

Our celebratory parade went off without a hitch! We had visitors from our Mayor Ms. Stone; Senator Wojno's office; Representative McKinney's office, and City Hall to name a few. Check out the happy faces as everyone took a short route around the Lincoln Abes area and got ready for a meet and greet with the players. Go, ABES!
