Valentine's Day is for everyone! Our sweet LMS students showed their compassion this year by sharing their love. Mr. Izzard says, "Here is a photo of our students' Valentine cards that we sent to The Orchards nursing home in Harper Woods. I would especially like to thank Ms. McSherry, Ms. Mitchell, Mr. Lonsway and the rest of the teachers at Lincoln Middle School who helped in this endeavor. We are teaching our kids to think about others and develop empathy and sympathy for individuals that they don't even know. One student even wrote a poem saying that if this resident didn't have a Valentine, that they would be their valentine. Such outpouring of love was evident in these cards, and it was moving to read them."

We are asking for ID now and will enhance that procedure. McKinley SHOWED UP for the 100th Day/100 Years Old Celebration this morning. They've got shenanigans planned all day, but this was an amazing start to any Wednesday. Take a look at who showed up - including the absolute cutest tiny 100 year old on the planet! We've got Retro Rhonda, Wilin Out Wanda, twins Harry and Howard, and Charming Carm just to name a few.

It's getting closer...You may not want to admit that your baby is almost ready for graduation, but getting help with the FAFSA will ease some of the pain. Don't forget to register for our FAFSA night at LHS, coming up on February 27. Details are attached, and your seniors are excited for their next steps. We'll see you there.

Elementary families: When the littles wake you up next Saturday and say, "What are we DOING today?" you can say, "We're getting free breakfast and books, and meeting a super cool author!" Happy Friday! Van Dyke Families, get ready for something new. We are centralizing our communication to and from school staff. We'll be transitioning to Rooms so that you'll see all of your children's classes, teachers, activities, etc. in one place - connected to our website or app. Look for more info coming from school in the next two weeks.

Exciting day at Carlson Elementary as we expand our Early Childhood Special Education program with the opening of a new classroom! Welcome new ECSE teacher Ms. Drumm to Van Dyke.

We're still talking about Friday's LMS Friendship Games around here. The staff vs. student game was so much fun, although the staff members may have needed a weekend ice bath after all that hustling. Our student athletes showed their stuff as well, but youth is on their side regardless of the end score! The LMS Cheer and Stomp team was right there to support and have obviously been practicing diligently. Enjoy a few pictures, but make sure you attend their last game in person tonight at 4:30, being held at Wilkinson in Madison Heights.

More smiles comin' at ya, even though our dental students look very serious here: Mrs. Lipiec caught Mariah, Lynzee, and Keith working diligently on our new itero scanner. State of the art equipment and career-ready students go hand-in-hand in our CTE programs!
